Great Job.....way to go!

thanks. it's longer than 42 miles, my Garmin froze up (twice!), so it looks like i teleported in straight line a few times. Gorgeous views, ocean and mountains. Took it easy, no need to kill it. Met some good riders. Tomorrow may try to do the loop in reverse, painted cave/old san marcos (very steep 5 mile section), descent down Gibraltar.

I want to ride up there!

Nice looking ride Oleg. Lots of steep climbing.

Not a fan of the freezing Garmin -- happened to me once on the second day of a back-to-back century ... ruined my stats. Spent the last twenty miles doing resets and cussing.
Good ride, though, Oleg.

Club ride on Thursdays from the Santa Barabara Roasting Company is fast and furious. There will also be a group that rides down the coast to Ventura and then around Lake Casitas leaving from the same place at 7:00. It's a great ride and my old buddies. If you go, tell'em I sent you!

good to know David! Not sure my schedule will be compatible with early ride on Thursday but I will keep it in mind.

My parents live up there. great riding! I really don't like descending Gibraltar, because of the road conditions. Climbing it is great, though. :). Stop for stop signs. Whole packs have been ticketed. Have fun! East mountain is my dad's standard ride. Beautiful views for sure!

Geoff - Gibraltar is indeed a rough road to descend on. My wrists still sore from holding onto brake levers for 20 minutes! Beautiful views though!!! Santa Barbara is amazing - 3,000 ft climbs right next to the ocean. You are never more than a few miles from a major climb. It's almost like putting Palomar where Soledad is.

Are you still here or did you go back yet?
Oleg S.
Steve, unfortunately I am back in San Diego...
