Nice. Did you see the road/trail to Sanborn? We should try that one day.
It was really foggy at the top and getting dark, so didn't want to push my luck and explore. Yes, we need to try to one Thomas.
Looks like a challenge. Did you do this on a mtn bike? I've only got a roadie. Any good routes in that area that use a roadie?
Dave, there is a lot of good riding for road bikes in the area. Just look some up on Strava under the explore section and find a profile that meets your liking.
I was on LG Trail today, thought about riding up to Lexington, but stopped at the end of downtown. I know the group does some billygoats. Might just join them for one or 5 of those.
It's too bad you must ride on dirt/gravel to get up to Lexington. Once up on top there you have access to so many good climbs. Definitely join the group and explore.
I've been on one ride, but it was an L.... Was too slow for me, though you M's and LM's would prebably wear me out. One of these days, I'll show up for another event and then eat my words. Is Lexington all dirt? Probably would mean a mtn bike, but my roommate would shoot me if I got another bike.
The LGCT from Main St. up to the base of the dam is dirt/gravel. It can be ridden on a road bike, but I hate to subject my nice climbing road bike to the dirt. Some people drive up to the the dam (have to get on Hwy 17 and take Bear Creek Rd and loop around), park and ride from there. If you're referring to ACTC, usually there pace is a bit slower. Try riding with the Los Gatos Bicycle Racing Club on Saturday morning. They meet at 8:30am in front of the Los Gatos Roasting Company and ride from there, doing different routes every week. Good, comfortabl pace and fun group.
Cross bike is ready to explore the hills around Lexington... let me know when you guys are up for it.
would not want to subject my ride to dirt /gravel. Maybe, one of these days, I'll drive it up there and take it for a spin. Have been by Lex, maany times on the hwy, but never around it. Is it all paved?
Tim - Thomas and I want to scout out the route that connects El Sereno to Sanborn, have you done that route? Seems perfect for a cx bike, then can cruise Hwy 9 and beyond. Dave - yes paved all the way around Lexington, but you'll have to ride along the exit lane of Hwy 17 for a short bit if you want to ride it on a clockwise direction.
Sounds good.. We just have to find the right day.
