Kevin Abraham (ex-D3 pro and true Masters Fatty) was visiting Tucson and wanted to do a ride, so Mike Gaber and I drove down to do Lemmon with him. Very friggin' cold, lots of snow starting at 5K and temps in the low 40's and high 30's towards the top. Ride went as expected with Mike jetting away and Kevin and I riding together for the most part. We reach the first 8K summit and Kevin says, "this is where we turn around, right?", I say, no, we've got a descent, another 8K summit, another descent, and then a 2K climb up a road with 14% pitches to the top. That ride point is now known as "Pussy Junction", where the pussies turn tail and leave. Kevin and I kept going, got onto Ski Run (the last 2K) and he made it about a half mile before bagging and going to the store to hang out. I went on up, and was met about 0.5 miles from the top by Mike, who said he had to get off four times to go through snow on the way to the top. That sounded sucky to me, and would have left Kevin at the store for ages, so it'll be next time before I can actually say I've made it to the "full monte" point. The decent was frigid, I was getting dropped because I'm the only one who had a full jacket, which while warm, was like a sail. Stopped and stuffed it and caught up before the bottom.
