this was my door to door attempt of Mt Blanc from my house in Chamonix. I left at 2h15 am in my Hoka One One's, skis /boots on the back, headed up toward the tunnel du mont blanc, played steeplchase with the many fallen trees from the windstore (one of the biggest obstacles of the day!) Skis on at the top of the old Aiguille du midi and traverse of the junction glacier with ease and onward to climb past Grand Mulet Hut and up towards the Arrete du Dome. Great conditions o the arrete and almost warm until we crested to the Col and the winds started to howl. We caught up to parties at the Col du Dome and just below the Vallot Hut. We made shelter at the Vallot hut and decided to not go for the summit as the winds were gusting over 100km an hr and it was cold. We had an awesome descent off the Grand Mulet Face up until just below the Grand Mulet hut. There were some serac falls but we were there in good time. Had we been able to summit the ski down from the G Mulet hut around would have been perfect (it needed about 1 more hr to soften up) After it was thin going and somewhat of picking and choosing amounst branches and patches of snow until we found our shoes and made our way back to town on foot. All in all a great effort and a good recon session for the full summit soon! I love Stava but it drains the heck out of my battery and it did not complete the full route back home as the IPHONE died en route down.

I forgot to mention a special thanks to SKI TRAB, SWIX, POMOCA, Pierre Gignoux, Hoka One One, Smartwool, HAMMER NUTRITION, PLUM BINDINGS, WILD ROSES WOMENS CLOTHING, PETZL for LIghting the WAY with the new NAO lamp! This was a great recon for another attempt in the not too far future. And of course a huge thanks my husband for holding down the fort while I was gone.
