Love Big Sur - this is near the Tin House and Esalen if I remember correctly.
Buzz, you got it. The tin house is a blight on the land as it's falling apart and looks like trash. Of more interest is a use path up to spectacular Alta Vista viewpoint where a homestead once existed. All that remains is the foundation and a wine cellar built into the mountain. Five years after the Basin Fire in 2008 the Ewoldson Loop is finally open so you can legally go from Partington to McWay Falls. Thanks for update. Reminds me I need to get back there. Winter is great - few people; it can really feel like a lost world of it's own.
