Targeted the segment - https://www.strava.com/segments/2062181, got the segment ✅.  I went out pretty hard and kept the effort high, but I wasn't sure if I was going to get it ¾ through. Given I hadn't done any reconnaissance, I didn't know how much to save for the final kilometres. They were tougher, but I'm glad I didn't save too much. Overall happy with the effort, and if I would do it again, I know I could push the middle section a little bit more but this was pretty much all I had on the day.

The descent down the backside of the mountain was the best pavement I have ridden this entire trip! I felt confident to go fast with the smooth pave, and the nice banked curves. Once down the valley, the roads were beautifully paved leaving Tin-Tin. It's a shame I wasn't able to ride my entire route due to a fire (either a car accident or forest fire) that looks like it had just started...what are the odds? We stopped some distance away, and within 5 minutes several police cars came to close off the road, followed by fire trucks and a helicopter trying to put it out. No ride goes without some form of a hiccup it seems here, huh! The road I wanted to climb back up was just around the bend, right where the fire was. So, I turned around and then rode back the way I came. The legs were feeling the first effort, and the block headwind up didn't help. Another ride that wouldn't be possible without the support of my parents 🫶🏽; even if we did have some issues finding each other after the final descent 😝, extending my ride time a bit longer than I had anticipated. Not ideal on tired legs, with no fuel. All is well, that ends well, however, and if anything will make this ride more memorable!
