Afternoon Ride

This was a nostalgia ride… one of my favorite fall/spring motorcycle routes.

It’s about 15 miles of city riding through San Jose to get to the base of Quimby Road. I knew it would be boring, but the trip back was an absolute slog.

I underestimated the Quimby climb to Mt Hamilton Road. Bunch of 10-15% grades it felt like. Once on Mt Hamilton Road, the grades were lower and it didn’t even feel like much of a climb.

When I got to the top of Quimby, I descended about a mile before Mt Hams Rd, and I made a mental note that would be a nasty climb on the way back. I’m here to confirm it was brutal.
