(Barefoot RSD 898) Near the end of mile 3, the sun went down and a slight breeze appeared: made all the difference.

What?!? That's crazy hot! You are amazing. I would just shrivel up and die on the side of the road.

  4. Patty Vander Dussen

Wow, Teresa!! You are amazing running in that heat/humidity. Glad there was a breeze!!

  5. Barefoot Teresa

Thank you, Timothy Mungania, Kim Frick, Patty Vander Dussen, and Geri L! Thank you for your encouraging words! Honestly, the high heat in the evenings doesn't seem so bad. The humidity is at its lowest for the day, and though on its way back up, still low. The sun is still brutal at the beginning of the run, but on its way down and once low on the horizon the dusk takes over and brings INSTANT relief, and usually a little breeze as well. Its such a relief from the intense mid-day / afternoon heat that it feels almost comfortable, even though the temp is still so wickedly high. The evening heat is much easier to bear than ALWAYS high morning humidity.

Well, it's totally impressive. I've just returned from vacation and my cat is on my lap. Did you find your sister's cat?

  7. Barefoot Teresa

Oh, Geri L, the saddest news. My sister JUST texted me that someone who saw the flyers I made with Scarlet's picture called and told her that she saw a dead cat fitting that description in a ditch earlier this week. My sister went to check, which I don't think wise under any circumstances after this length of time but especially not in this extreme heat. The poor cat is badly decomposed but my sister said the sad little thing looks to be her Scarlet's size. We're so sad. Thank you for asking, and for your prayers for her family. Her husband was finally released from the hospital but won't recover too much apparently. Not sure if he can continue to work and if not, no health insurance. My sister had no benefits with her job.

Barefoot Teresa that's bad news all around. I'm sorry.
