I went for a hike that turned into running on the flat and downhill, bad luck with my too big backpack... But I had to have everything with me, I didn't know how much winter is up there.

The first lake, Sämtisersee, was not completely frozen, but the second, Fählensee, was even covered with some snow (the third lake, Seealpsee, can be included in a long summer trailrun, but not from.. Rüthi).

If the snow was big where I didn't expect it, the wind blew pretty hard. When it wasn't blowing, I was dying of heat...
*
In conclusion, no matter how flat you run, elevation + long run + snow is a whole different story...
*
