Across the pavement, smooth and low. 
A gentle pace, a leisurely stride, 
Just a short spin, no place to hide. 

Two and a half, the distance tame, 
A measly nine-minute claim to fame. 
Four meters up, a mountain grand, 
My heart rate soared, a pulse of sand. 

A hundred thirty-two, the number true, 
My fitness tracker's tale of woe. 
But hey, a skate's a skate, no matter the pace,
Just glad to be out in this happy space.
