A little bit of a spur of the moment thing (& with some inspiration from club mates who were planning an MTL), we picked possibly the hotest day of the year & a 1pm start to 'have a go'! 

Pretty good conditions, dry with a pleasant breeze on the tops, we set off not really knowing if we had it in us or not.  Well we obviously did, but not without digging deep, especially in the last 12Km.  We'd cached water & some food at a couple of points on route but otherwise carried what we needed.  Natural water sources were pretty sparse & TBH we pushed our luck a bit with hydration! Head torch finish added to the drama of what was a fantastic day out!
Just waiting for verification but I  think we got the FKT, by some margin!
