How did u place???
Good job, man, not an easy course. I had to bust it when I set the CR of 3:34 on those trails. Godspeed.
I went from 1st to 5th over the last third of the race, Jason Clarke. I guess I should have opted for the fast, furious BSS 10K! Thanks Gabriel Rodriguez. You still habe the second fastest time ever for the course. I was on 3:35 pace through ~16, but I came into with three big weekends in a row. Trying to extend it to a fourth was a step too far. I loved the course and hope to come back sharper and fresher someday.
20 fast downhill miles is a lot of punishment a week out! Sometimes you don't know where the line is until you cross it. I'm sure you'll be back. In my personal experiences, I almost never run a course well my first time. They're too dynamic and the first outing can be a great lesson.
And this is the i guy I was telling you about that competes at sub-ultra trail races. Go get him! https://ultrasignup.com/m_results_participant.aspx?fname=Matt&lname=Lipsey
Thanks for sharing, Michael Heimes. When you first began describing his credentials, I thought you were referring to Gabriel Rodriguez.
Don't speak Lipsey's name!! He is my nemesis in the Mid-Atlantic and he will find us. Matt is a complete stud on ultra technical terrain. Not many weaknesses to his game.
Haha. Sounds like you guys need a three-way showdown! I don't have the speed for that stuff. Enjoy!
I'll go head-to-head with road guys and technical
Trail/mountain guys on a tough XC 10K with mild/moderate technicality and decent climbs. I don't like boulder fields, though.
