With the average temperature on the way there being 42° (108F), "sizzling" definitely doesn't refer to my speed.  Though, I did get lucky with a normally-red light at the start of the last little climb just before arriving at Costco, so I thought "what the heck" and gave it some gas.  It was sort of fun passing cars at 40kph up a hill.  I ended up tying for 2nd overall (out of 900 people).  I wish I would have tried harder, as I was just playing around (and toward the end backed off because my heart rate shot way above redline, indicating that it's still jumpy after having gone into a-fib last week).

So, next time I get lucky with the light, I hope my heart is better, it's not 44° (111F), and I don't have a backpack. Then maybe I can get the KOM.  A typhoon tailwind would also be helpful. 

Anyway, it was _hot_.  Hot hot hot.  Sizzling.
