despite starting at sunrise to try to beat the heat, still ended up dehydrated after sweating all day.  But the ride was fairly pleasant aside from an unnecessary 15mi on a highway (I found the rail trail right at the beginning of it, but it veered north while I was going south...turns out it veered south soon after since I picked it up again for the last 12 miles or so so could have skipped the poor shoulder that was somewhat heavily trafficked.
