Oof. David Sinclair had CR at 2:02.06 and there was a $2000 time bonus if you ran under 2hrs…SO that was the goal. Hadn’t been on the course except for a very short chunk last night so this felt like a bit of a quest. Got out well for the first few miles but definitely lost a bit of time on the climb where I wasn’t sure where to go. Filled my bottle at the first aid station at ~2.1miles.  Followed Andrew Drummond s advice and just didn’t get frustrated with slow going. Misjudged the summit and I was definitely not cutting corners as I was ~.3 longer than I figured I’d be. Descended well and just tried to keep forward movement. Stopped at the water aid at ~11miles and drank some and dunked my head then kept plugging. Caught a toe with ~4-5mins to run and wasn’t sure I’d be under 2hrs until the last 30s. Pumped!
