Damp when we left and for the first hour, then light steady rain for the next two. Moderate temperatures and no wind kept conditions comfortable and there was almost no mud. With the least amount of elevation of any of our days on the Sentier Cathare it added up to the easiest day of the trip. Rain stopped after about fifteen kilometres and the sun even came out briefly, allowing us to enjoy our lunch with a view across to Foix. Cloudy again by the time we’d satisfied our appetites and set off for the last five kilometres. Arrived at the train station about an hour and twenty minutes before the next connection to Toulouse allowing Michel plenty of time to chat with another traveller waiting for the train towards Foix and - just like that - our outdoor adventures in France come to a close. 😉
