(a.k.a. "Poplars in the Sun" or "Fields in Spring")

Here's a departure from the punk canon: some 19th-century French Impressionism. 😊  Inspired by a conversation with Katherine Li  at last year's SF Community Running Festival, this was my father's favorite Monet painting. He even planted three birch trees in the backyard of my Hayward childhood home to mimic the scene. 🌲🌲🌲

Thanks to a summer 1993 internship, it was a life bucket list item to be able to see the original in Stuttgart, Germany. I was so happy my dad got to see it too a few years later and shortly before his passing. 🥲 This would have been his year, Year of the Snake. 🐍

He hated that I was in this phase of wearing obnoxious t-shirts because it detracted from the painting. Decades later, I admit he was right. 😇

Lenny Maughan , you might uniquely appreciate the Christ-like figure… right at the Maytag church. 😆
