What do you use to create running intervals?
My Garmin watch tracks steps per lap, and I manually reset it after each interval. My standard interval workout is one I borrowed from Jack Daniel’s Running Formula: 20 steps interval, 20 steps jog. 40 steps interval, 40 steps jog. So on up to 200 of each, then repeat, and then 180 of each, 160 of each, etc., back to 20. It comes out to between 3 and 4 miles in total and about 2 miles of it is at interval pace, which, if you’re running 20-30 miles per week, is a good amount of interval running for that week.
