Running Streak Day #1,213
My tenth time here. What a day! Perfect conditions. The crowds get better every year. My broken toe held up well although the white shoes got a little bloody. It’ll heal. Two weeks after Tuscany 103K I aimed for a careful 3:29h, but overpaced right from the start because it just felt so good to be running this race again. 1:31h half marathon, shortly thought about taking a shot at Sub-3, but wisdom prevailed and the inevitable low was slowly appearing. Super happy with 3:09h today. Couldn’t have gone much better given everything. Shout to Mathias v. Waldenfels  who went Sub-3 for the first time, and Philippe Renfer for a solid 3:02 – next time! So many familiar faces and people chatting me up. And my girls at the km27 aid station, volunteering! So cool. ❤️❤️❤️
