Holy crap! I'm sorry.
How'd it happen?
Sorry to hear that! I know it was like three years ago but it seems like yesterday that you got that bike.
Ah just noticed your explanation. Do you think that it could’ve been from checking it on your recent flight?
All you need is a new frame. Rose might even give you a discount on a new one. Send them a mail with photos.
Thanks Andy... did that as soon as I got home. But will also check with Vincent on Treks in my size, and maybe peek at the new disk Canyons. Dylan, it could have been anything... it’s all speculation, at least beyond the undeniable fact of my awesome, brutal, frame-ripping power. :-)
Sucks. Let me know if you need help with their customer service.
yikes. hopefully you had some exit strategy to get home.
Aw man, that's a bummer. You put in some good climbing on that frame!
Not sure I’d go with Trek. When this happened to my Trek, they told me to just glue it back on. Giant make great bikes and offer a fantastic warranty. Also are much better value for your money. If you plan on buying a complete bike.
(Which you don’t need to do. Your components are still top grade)
fwiw, having gone through a lot of frame replacements with a different company, it'll be a crapshoot if they'll do anything. I'm sure you're out of the warranty period (it's usually like 1 year? I don't know maybe Rose is better, but at ~3 years surely it's out) I wouldn't bank on them doing anything for you. The Canyon bikes do look awfully nice. I'm going with ti bikes nowadays because I'm so damned fat that frames break on me, but if I was into carbon I'd be giving Canyon a close look. (that new Trek Checkpoint gravel bike is pretty sweet too! very similar to my Lynskey Pro GR but in carbon. I really dig frames with larger tire clearance so I can play around with lots more choices.)
oh my gosh!!
Sorry to see the passing of a trusted and faithful friend. I have a '73 Raleigh in your size I am not currently using. Good luck.
