I busted a wheel doing Stone Hut Road on a gravel bike. Love that first 25%ish gravel grind though!

Wayne, my first time there, I can understand how easy it would be to bust a wheel. That grind just never stops, and dodging cement trucks add a new dimension. I surprised #adamisajerk hasn’t used it on a ADD yet.

I actually surprised myself going up that first part: yes it goes on for ages. Hard - but stats make it sound harder. Maybe I just had a good day. Stone Hut Road is an overall great adventure ride but think if I do it again it will be on MTB and/or fatter tyres

Great to see someone riding routes that I don't know of. I'm guessing a roadie is likely to struggle through here. Do you think a set of 25s could do it? I'm happy enough to crash along on Moore's and Old Cherryville. Rough at times but fun. What's the rest like?

No, to be blunt. Fire tracks, rocks, SHR is not a gravel road, it is a track for 4wd emergency vehicles

You’d be pushing the love with 25s on Stone Hut Road... unless you walked a lot of it

Thanks guys. Sounds like its worth a shot to me. I got through the adventure trail in Belair once and that's single track. I'll take plenty of tubes when I try. 😬
