Epic first day and night. Everything went as planned (on that day at all). I made it to Malton at 1:30am after having left Writtle 5:45 in group H (I was H11). Many riders from later starting groups passed me during the first few hours, but I always thought: "well, we will talk later". 
I was quick at controls, and was overtaken by the same riders several times. Arrived at my hotel in Malton and sent the alarm clock to 2 hours as I wanted to  try to get past Yad Moss before the wind in the north really picked up.
