STAIRS, so many stairs. I am really happy with that time in a stacked field. It would have been a podium in other years. The pace was a bit hot at the start so I dropped off in “no man’s land” in 8th as I was feeling a bit sluggish. I started to feel in my element once we got into the Grand Canyon and I picked off two runners and then just settled in for the remainder of the race, closing the gap a bit to 5th. Insanely difficult course for a 17km race. Paced it pretty well I think.
