There is a dude from Wisconsin, Chris Stevenson, and he is an ULTRA BEAST! His fuel? 100% Maple Syrup. He won the 245mi  race across Minnesota with a 120mi solo break away and he ate NOTHING but maple syrup. That’s wild. 8,000+ cal of zizzurp…

I guess Maple syrup has a great ratio of fast and slow acting sugars, and these new gels I got from KRONO has a pure maple syrup option. So I skipped my 2nd (HIGH CARB) lunch, and ate 700 calories of straight syrup for the 2 hour ride.

Felt TERRIFIC. Ate a 25g carb syrup gel every 10-15min. Same experience I have every time I run high frequency high carb fuel on a relatively empty stomach. I feel amazing from start to finish and end feeling fresher than when I started. 

Gonna race a 200mi race this Saturday, as of now, I’m tracking to have my best performance all year. I seem to choke more often than not when I’m in this position. I’ve been able to build a good form then some shit seems to happen that doesn’t allow me to really show up on race day. 

However, I’ve tweaked my whole life program over the last 2 months and I feel like that won’t happen this time. In the past, my health has seemed “fragile”, like I can feel amazing for 2-3 weeks then not great for a couple days. But with this new program across all aspects of fuel, nutrition, sleep, vitamin supplementation, stress management, stretching and strength, and mental health, has made my overall all health way more stable and predictable. 

We shall see.
