It was (really) fun while it lasted, but after 1,110 days accident free (which is a record), a poorly timed pothole ended it. I'm feeling fine, but it was a full-on endo, and I'm appreciative of a good helmet, a good Samaritan (William), and good EMTs (Sam and Tiffany) ... see, I passed concussion protocol with the recall of those names 😜.

I got back to the hotel and bought some ibuprofen. Let's see how stiff I feel in the morning.

Getting past that drama, this was Verse's first trip to Virginia, and my return to the lovely W&OD trail after 35 years. 

All headwind on the way out, which meant all tailwind on the way back. Avg speed by hour: hr1 = 12mph; hr2 = 13mph; hr3 = 14mph; hr4=15mph (until the accident). Love the steady crescendo!
