My marathon prep went of the rails 8–4 weeks out due to sickness and small injuries, and when I finally could train again about 4 weeks ago, I couldn’t find the motivation, almost as if the goal was to big of mountain. 

Dispite that I always knew I was going to run today and enjoy it. And when the race organizers fired up the speakers at 8 o’clock with FatBoy Slim - Right here right now  with the sun rising over Valencia you believe miracles can happen. Could have used those beats 4 weeks ago. Had no goal just get to the finish as quick a possible on feeling  today. Gave it everything and ran with what I had the first 30-35km. Then it was just survival, walking and jogging the last 7km when the tank was empty. You can’t fake a marathon. 

Hopefully the biggest positive from today was finding the motivation to start training again. Animo!!
