(Barefoot RSD 1287) It's not just spring, but the world (or the trail, anyway) is a bit of mud-luscious and puddle-wonderful today nevertheless.

Wow, you must have received a lot of rain. That looks too slick for me.

Julie Wolf, Stephanie Harvey, and Robyn Godfrey, I took that photo of the creek on either side of the bridge that crosses it. I stayed on the paved trails, which were dotted with puddles and slick with mud in places. I just ran on the grass to the side of the paved trail when I came to puddles and mud patches so that I would not slip (no traction on bare feet). Stephanie, had I run farther up the trail I would have come to another bridge that always floods over when the creek is high after heavy rain. I run up to the street to avoid running through the water on that bridge specifically because I fear snakes in the water! The water is so muddy that nothing is visible in it. I know a cyclist who rode the trail later this same day and saw eleven snakes along the trail!!! The rain brought them out😱
