~3 Miles @ ~Steady State w/ VC Boyz @ SWM Yates Mill Segment 'Lollipop' Loop

After a strong performance last week, I just couldn't really "bring it" with the boys this go 'round. I thought I was gonna be able to hang, but a lack of spikes & sleep rendered me not quite prepared to tackle this segment like I would have hoped. Opened up fairly strong, staying with Matt for the first quarter of the loop before he started to leave Danny and I. Danny made a facilitated pass on me a little over a mile in, and that was the last position change of the whole effort. Kudos to Matt, he killed it with some not superb conditions. The course was pretty technical, with roots and rocks and boardwalks and baby deer and what not. I hit the wall pretty hard around 2 miles, and kinda just coasted to the finish a pretty decent bit behind the other guys. Oh well, I won a tank top. A couple of postrun polos from my hill efforts over the past 3 weeks as well. The ultimate segment-hunting long run tomorrow. Stay tuned 😈...
