And plenty of silver gongs on way back into the wind 👍
And 4 PBs!!! Oh and the wind was all around both ways ... it was blowing a Scottish hoolie which means no tail wind ... just head wind and when not head on it was side on! Not good for long vehicles! 🙄
Excellent ride. Nothing wrong with macaroni pies! Didn't know about the route on the south side of the A9. I'll have to try that sometime.
Its a good route Clockwork Hamster although you have to obviously take great care pushing across A9 at Blackford slip. Its known locally as Badrill as it passes farms of that name! Allows you to get a good speed up as relatively flat! Maybe show you and stoker one day! And here's to macaroni pies! Lol!
There's a perfectly serviceable agricultural track that extends the route to the Sheriffmuir road and removes the unpleasantness of crossing the A9 entirely. As long as you're prepared to do a 200m up and over of course...
And Jonathan Peters So where does this agricultutal track go ... what dies 200m up and down mean? Can you access from Blackford? And how do get across A9? And how do you get back to Badrill section from further down? Sorry for questions but we are confused!
Ah gotcha now! Thanks! Yes know about Blackford Community Council's plans as was involved in launch publicity events with Matilda!
Sorry. Should have said "...if you're going to/from Dunblane". The track goes from opposite Blackford to the beginning of the Sheriffmuir road to Dunblane or BofA. Sheriffmuir climb is roughly 200 metres. An alternative to Braco route from Auchterarder to Dunblane. No link to Blackford directly, although plans are afoot via (another) farm track via a tunnel under the A9. Sorry. My delete and repost has made nonsense of the conversation. Oops.
But still useful to us non-locals but relatively often visitors.
