Didn't really have a race plan today. I've never raced 5 miles on the road and whilst I know the route quite well, I didn't know what my legs would be up for so I just went for it.  Start off a little quick as I tried to keep up with the guy who took the lead but he soon left me for dust so I backed off and settled into a more comfortably pace in preparation for the hills.

Managed to keep up a pretty good pace alongside the second place chap until the last two miles when he dug in deeper and pulled away from me. Kept up as best I could.

Finished strong for a new 5 mile PB 😜
