Notes for redemption:

Hoka Torrents, yellow Smartwool socks, black brooks shorts, green vhtrc shirt. old UD vest with osprey 1.5L bladder, naked waist band.
Shoes were a little loose early on which led to a little rubbing on sole of the foot. Tightened them a bit on the trail twice and had to duct tape left one at Roosevelt (note: did this too tightly / wrapped around too much and got a cut on the top of the foot from it).

Felt really good through Roosevelt. Took a bad fall ~3 miles before Roosevelt. Rolled and landed right on my left butt (nice bruise 4 days later). That was manageable but might have altered my stride just enough.

Little lowpoint coming out of Roosevelt. Powerhiked most of Duncan. Felt tbetter by the top. Nice descent down and then Waterfall was steep but not errible since I'd regained some strength on the easy Duncan.

I told myself to take Kerns slowly, but apparently not slowly enough! ~2 miles in on a slight downhill section i strided it out a tiny bit. Tripped again and ate it hard. Cut up my right knee but that looked worse than it was. Landed hard on my left quad probably a jagged rock and that was what did me in. That leg did not work after that. Death march down to Moreland. IPAs with Larry numbed the pain, but a day or too out, I was a bit melancholy at the DNF.

For next time: 
tighten those shoes. 
maybe run in less clownlike-shoes?
pick your feet up.
Take Kerns even slower.
Just finish.
