道の駅「しむかっぷ」からトマムリゾートに向かい、さわやかな「かなやま湖」の湖畔沿いを走る全長約９０ｋｍのコースです。道内随一のラフティングスポットである鵡川のせせらぎと素晴らしい渓谷美を望みながら進むと、その先には北海道らしい雄大な山岳景観が広がり、羊の放牧も見ることができます。２５ｋｍ地点からは話題の雲海テラスがあるトマムリゾートが見えてきます。さらに国道３８号線まで北上すると、日本全国に感動を巻き起こした高倉健主演「鉄道員（ぽっぽや）」のロケ地であるＪＲ幾寅駅があり、現在も映画の街並みそのままに保存・公開されています。ここから先は「かなやま湖」の気持ちいい湖畔の道を進みまがら気分をリフレッシュ。湖畔の道が終わってからが最大の難所で、峠やトンネルがあり力量が問われます。これを過ぎればゴールまで緩やかな下りとなり道の駅「しむかっぷ」に戻ります。

It is a 90km course from Simukappu Roadside Souvenir Shop to Tomamu Resort along Lake Kanayama. You can enjoy the sound of Mukawa river, which is famous for rafting, beautiful valley, great mountain scenery, and even a pastoral grazing. After passing JR lkutora Station where movie “Poppoya” was taken, it would be a refreshing ride along Lake Kanayama until you encounter a difficult part with pass and tunnel to test your strength. Then you can enjoy slight downhill riding back to Shimkappu Roadside Souvenir Shop.
