4+ minute PB. Super consistent effort, with a fast finish, and what appears to be a negative split second half (36:16/35:30). Final five were 5:35/5:30/5:26/5:20/5:19. 1st in AG (non-elite), 2nd in the people’s field (by less than a second), 31st overall.

The only thing lacking in this short, five week build was a couple more solid long runs/tempos. I traded those out for a few fun XC races and two epic cycling weekends in E. Sierra — wouldn’t change that as it’s been a really dynamic & fun fall so far. I originally signed up for this race thinking it was perfect for a marathon build for CIM, but the race sold out before I could register. And tbh I don’t have the motivation for a December 26.2 after a long season of racing that started in January. I do still want and know I can nail a sub 70 half in the build for Big Sur next April :)
