So many people I know who ran this did positive splits, even the experienced ones, would have thought crowded start would result in opposite ? Do people just get carried away with the occasion ?
I stuck to my splits very well for the first 32km. Just hit the wall at 20 miles. Nothing I could do.
Nothing you could do ? There must be, you've got through that before, what was different this time, what are you going to change next time ? Sorry for the questions, just trying to learn
Well I stuck to my nutrition plan during the race but perhaps not so well before it. So I need to stay off the carbs rather than having sneaky pastries. Fat burn will not happen otherwise. During the race, I couldn't eat any more or I would have been sick. So very little you can do at that point other than dig deep and hang on.
Got you, I still use carbs but never tried pastries, not a good carb source, kind of a carb/fat combo - stay away from the hotel buffet breakfasts !
