This was supposed to be a first known attempt of running the inner ring road attempt. Pace was never a goal. Our goal is to first create local FKT loops and show that running is far beyond races and events.

Kshitish was the one who mapped it out and created a gpx file. It had been on my mind like several other runners for a while.

Started early. I was not feeling it from the get go but we had committed to doing it together. Kept it nice and easy for the first few. Sadly, Kshitish was having a worse day and decided to stop around 25-26K. Sorry buddy and redemption awaits. Around the same time, one of my uncle staying close to home was having a medical emergency and I was blessed that a friend (Manav) was willing to help. With the two set backs behind me, I marched on.

Around 32K, while reviewing  my supplies (I was running low on hydration and forgot to carry cash), I got a call from Devki, who saw me running. Fortunately, he and his wife became my "trail angels" (widely used in the hiking community) and gave me a litre of cold water + 1 banana. While refilling my hydration bladder, we realised it now had a leak! Perfect luck! The soft flasks (500 mL X 2) were life savers!

Last 20+ were a real push. Sun and traffic didn't help. Happy to have got it done!

Despite all the interruptions (lots of photo breaks), nice to see the sub 5 hr moving time. Hoping to see a sub 4 hr time from one of the speedsters in the future. It's certainly not a pretty route but it's an iconic one.

Hoping this will inspire more to come up with local FKTs in their areas. Running has so much to offer if you choose to be creative.

Gear: hydration pack with 1.8L bladder (that leaked!) + 500 mL X2 + headlamp + tail blinker (on my rear waist band) + mask (didn't use) 

Furling: bladder with Enerzal, soft flasks with water, 1X Unived Ultra Butter, 2X Granola bars, 4X gels, 3X Salt pills, 1X banana
