Huge congrats Gia, you put the work in and were rewarded
Fantastic effort, Gia!! Have been waiting for this for hours :)
Outstanding run Gia! Well done my friend, massively impressive running, hope you're chuffed with that, great time!
Great running! :-)
I am both chuffed at shaving 13' off a 5-month old PB and annoyed that I didn't crawl under 1h35', in spite of a sprint finish! I'd obviously left myself too much to do in the middle section, having underestimated both a) human traffic and b) elevation - which wasn't major, just compounded a) as much as anything! Still, gives me something to aim for in the remaining three HMs this year... and yes, must focus on the 13' breakthrough... but then I'm from Sheffield, so I can't just be satisfied, can I? need summat to moooan abaaat ;-)
Well, what can I say, that's a tremendous achievement, all your hard work has certainly paid off :)
Mighty impressive, Gia
What is there left to say? Legend.
phew! I thought you'd be disappointed, Martin... what with your sub-1h30' prediction... in fact, conviction!
Conviction because I know you're on track/have the ability to be a sub 1.30HM'er
Brilliant stuff. Who won the prize by the way?
Sorry, I've been out today so missed this earlier. An absolutely fabulous run Gia. I'm sure you would have loved to have beaten 1:35, but let's face it, you did a time the majority of runners would give their right arm to do. You also learnt a lot about racing at this pace in a big race (ie congestion). All great experience and you'll use it to knock the spots off this PB in your next HM.
Based on what I must have submitted as 'expected time' in October, I found myself contending with more traffic than envisaged! But don't worry Trevor, I'm not disappointed and yes, I did learn a lot today. Including the value of tapering... ;-)
