I am genuinely so proud of myself for finishing this. Lots of fun, hard riding, and great experience.
There was a crash about 35 miles in, and I managed (somehow!) To get a foot on the floor and hold both myself and the bike up. As I went to chase back onto the group who kept on rolling, I realised my chain had come off!! I had to stop, and get it back on. By this point the group were gone, the support cars had all come around me and I was alone. Three guys were on the deck, and one guy 100m on had punctured. 
I have never put in so much effort in all my life but I was determined to catch the group. Luckily, we were on flat/false flat at that point so I knew I had a chance (the speeds the bunch got up to on the descents would have given me no chance!) 
I managed to get to the group after a few minutes. Just as I did we hooked it right at a junction and into a descent, and I just lost the back of the group! ( Classic error, get back on properly!) Managed to close it and survive. 3rd from last hill I felt ok and made up pla es to mid pack, but then the penultimate hill my legs could not put out what the big boys at the front were pushing. Dropped the front bunch, and went on my best effort for 5 mins until 3 guys sped past. Managed to get on their wheel, and again luckily just before a lovely sweeping downhill they towed me to the final climb and finish line. I just tried to hold 300W up that and get over the line. 
Post race bonus: realised my tyre had sort of peeled off the rubber, almost ripped in the crash, I must have skidded as I hit the breaks. Cowbridge bike shop couldn't help (giants own hookless and tubeless!) But recommended the amazing cyclpedia in Cardiff. I made it in 5 mins before closing and begged. They fixed it. I need to check it tonight and in the morning to ensure its safe. So pleas call of you keep your fingers crossed I can make it to stage 3 tomorrow. A 40 mile road race, with worse hills!!!
