Just a 10,000' climb
Showin' the locals how it's done I see...
Nice. Give us a conditions report. Did you get snowed on? MPS may need to represent at Cycle to the Sun one day to reclaim that one.
Thanks guys... the conditions were mostly clear but super windy for most of the 36 miles which probably didn't help much. I brought my cranks but all the rental bikes have Shimano BB so no power and the stop at the park entrance is mandatory because the rangers aren't down with the rolling pay 5$ see you later technique. But it wasn't cold and it was definitely super epic. I have no doubt that several guys on the team could go throw down at the race to the sun and win as the draft factor on that ride is huge... definitely stoked I went up there and did it!
Screw cycling, I'm jealous you're in Hawaii!!!
OK, let me get this straight. You're on an f-ing rental bike, you've got no power meter, you've got no wheel to follow, you've got to stop to pay, and you still smash the record? I think you need to throw down at Cycle to the Sun!
You're a beast. NIce work!!!
Smashed my time. We need to get Cycle to the Sun though. I heard last time down that the record is Ryder Hesjedal at 2:45 (not on Strava so it doesn't count of course)
Cool. Looks like you had a nice ride. But I told you that I expect a KOM for the whole thing before you left ;) Did you hit the cloud? That last bit to the summit is brutal huh?
