Probably my favorite solo outing to date! And that's even with seeing that someone spray painted trail markers like "Connect the dots" the ENTIRE WAY up Williams 😤😠. That. Is. Not. Cool.

Trip report:
Jas dropped me off at the trailhead for a 7:30am start. I stashed my bike with then intention of biking home (spoiler, I didn't bike home haha 🌧🌧)

I made it up to the ridge in 1hr 10 mins, including the bike stash, then I boogied along the ridge. Got to the lookout above the Boulder field at 2hrs 15 mins total time.

Highlight: I decided to hug the cliff base on the north side of the Boulder bowl, and I was banking on finding an escape-gully... I found an immaculate gully to descend into the north bowl!! So stoked about that. Got the bottom of gully at 2hrs 45mins total time.

I saw a nice ramp up to Goetz Ridge.

I had SO MUCH FUN route-finding along Goetz Ridge. It was so great! No stupid orange spray paint to permanently ruin the landscape or ruin the joy of finding my own way.

It took a fair amount of time to summit Goetz with a few dips and rises in the ridge. I took my time and had a lot of fun on the way. I even established an Alpine Boulder problem! I'm calling it "Alpine Zig-Zag" V1.

I got to the summit at 11:48 am, 4hrs 20 mins total time (~1.5 hrs since bottom of epic gully). Hung around the top for about 15 mins, scouting future trips up Northgraves and Goat/Porcupine Peak, then boogied back so I could also ascend Williams before I ran out of time (Jas family dinner at 5:30).

I made it back across the ridge in about 1 hour. Sadly, one pole broke on the way back (repairable I think!). I quickly ascended a snowy gully to gain the col and drop into the south bowl. I checked my time and decided to bail on the bike home and asked Jas to come pick me up so I could go for Williams too (foreshadowing)

34 mins to the top from the col I passed over. I was working really hard for it! Full gas for the ascent. 32 mins between the bottom of the ascent gully, pics on summit, and getting to bottom of the gully.

I followed the Orange Connect-the-dots trail back (I'll admit, it was at least purposeful for a speedy return... despite my mutters of frustration).

Crossed the bowl in 25 mins, just as it started to rain! Put some speed on the returned to the downhill Turn-off in 45 mins. Back to car in another 45 mins. Knee started to hurt a bit halfway down so I eased up the pace and pulled out my one functional pole.

Then Jas drove me and the bike back as it was pouring rain!
