I was first diagnosed with BC Stage 1a in March 2012. Had Bilateral Mastectomy then was put on tamoxifen for 5 yrs. Feb 2017 it came back 2 1/2 mos before I finished treatment. Had surgery on April 26 and May 8. I refused for cancer to put me down this time. So I continued to bike in between surgery even with my drain on and in between chemo. I had a set back when I collided with a mountain biker the day after my second chemo. I sustained a hairline fracture on my left wrist and had to have a cast for 6 weeks. Since I cant bike I continued to hike on my good days in between chemo. Life adversities are unavoidable. sometimes it may slow us down but I refuse for it to touch my courage and my soul. I'll find a way to do the things I love to do because I won't let anything stop me from living my life. Things may look really bad and painful but if we look closely there's a reason why these things happen and there's always hope that comes with it. I always say we have to make the best of whatever situation we are in. Modify, improvise and move on, one day at a time for all these adversities are temporary and someday will pass and everything will be beautiful again. Life must go on no matter what. It's all about attitude.
