My name is Mike and I live on the Wirral Peninsula, a small outcrop of land just over the River Mersey from Liverpool. I am a software developer for a small company based in Liverpool, so sitting on my arse is something I do too much of. Riding my bike or going for a run helps burn off the office biscuits and keeps me fit. Inspired by the 2012 London Olympic games - in particular the Team GB cycling squad, I started track riding at Manchester velodrome and re-kindled my love for the bike. Shortly afterwards I signed up to a cycle-to-work scheme and purchased my current Cannondale road bike which I have used to cycle to work over the past 3 years. I take the Mersey Ferry across the water each day - the perfect way to take a ten minute break from cycling and get some fresh air! In 2014 I cycled from Glasgow, Scotland to Bellagio, Italy. In the process myself and two others cycled through 14 different countries over the course of 14 days and helped raise £30,000 for Reverse Rett. In 2016 we hope to do something even bigger and better.
