I have now been riding nearly 40 years. I began on schwinn 3 speed when I was 13. I rode all over rural Ky and did my first double century when I was 16. While in college I started to gain muscle and speed and always enjoyed endurance cycling, on a couple of occasions I did over 200 in one day and many many more ride between 100 and 200 miles in 1 day. In my 30's I did a 2 year stent at criterium racing, but after watching many of my friends go down I decided that the payoff (which was nothing( was not worth the risk and returned to club rides. These days I don't do as much distance, I have moved to wisconsin and the winters prevent me from keeping my legs fresh so I have to start all over each year. I still love it and hope to be riding well into my 70's and 80's.
See ya out on the roads.
