Former distance runner until arthritis (ankylosing spondilitis) destroyed my hips. Started cycling last year after both hips were replaced. I lost 100 lbs in 2011 thanks to cycling and weight watchers. I managed somewhere over 4500 miles last year and hope to improve that this season.
2015: Had a set back, tore both Achilles tendons, and gained the weight back. After a year off, I am back at it, having lost 35 lbs since December, with 60 more to go to get back down to 170 lbs. My goal is to be there by fall.
