Running is improving but my cycling needs alot more work. Swimming is solid.
Still need to lose some weight to achieve an optimal power to weight ratio.
I mix the training up runs, cycles, swims, Gym, stretches, core strength, speed work.
Current Training pace times: Running 5:00min/km, cycling 28-35km/hr avg, swim 1km/20 mins.
Past Achievements: Completed the 1997 NZ Ironman but was not happy with my time. Unfinished business with this event.
2016-2017 Competed in Garmin Half Marathon series and managed to slog into 1st place for my age group 50 to 55yo. Did 2016-2017 Orewa Swim Series 2km and managed 2nd Overall and 1st for my age group.
Best half marathon time 1 hr 30 min 8 secs (Orewa 2014), bugger so close to sub 1hr30. lol grrrr.
Best marathon time 3hrs 27 min but I was much younger but I did a 3hr 28min in 2014 Northshore Marathon.
I did the Auckland 70.3 Ironman 2015 January as my effort at getting back into Longer Triathlons, 5hrs 25mins, need to work on my cycling.
Have done the 2014 ITU Standard Triathlon (itu 2014) 1.5km swim, 40km cycle, 10km run, time was 2 hrs 28 min. Was happy with this effort.
