You’ve been wondering what’s next? I’ve been too.
“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” ~ Mary Oliver
Me: "Live passionately."
That much I knew. But I felt like having lost that fire and sense of clarity on the way. And that also didn’t come as a surprise. A year of intense shift and change. Before you forge forwards you sometimes have to look backwards and dwell a little. Back to picking up the mess and tidying it. No one is going to do it for you. Highly frustrating at times, because progress was slow, sometimes even backwards. Oops, just knocked that pile over again, didn't I!?
But progress came. Patience is a harsh teacher. Yet with time on our side, it all works out. Looking back, there were some intense times to deal with but also a lot of pathetic ones, I can now safely laugh about. Time means perspective. Time also means a chance to get better. And to understand. The gap between where you are and where you want to be can sometimes feel like you’ll never find a way of getting there. A bridge would be nice. Anyone got one? Quickly? But really, it’s a lot of valleys and peaks and twisty paths.
Thankfully I like running (or stumbling up and down) those. And I've met a lot of people who like to do that too. (Crazy bunch)
No shortcuts in running. No shortcuts in life. This is why running (sports even) is such a brilliant space, for us to explore and learn. Move yourself and you'll move your mind. You can learn in a relatively safe environment. Train for life, basically. If it wouldn't be for running and the people I can share my passion with, I wouldn't know where I'd be right now. Definitely not in a place as good and filled with sparks of happiness as I am now. So thank you to 'the team' for helping me to reach that better version of myself over and over again. Sorry you also sometimes have to put up with the faulty beta version of mentioned self.
I have so much to tell. And I'll probably share some of that in the future. My realness and honesty piece is always about leading by example – sharing some of the good, bad and of course the ugly. Not for self gratification but to show life isn't always amazing, but there's a lot you can do to get better at it. That moving along this spectrum is one crazy ride, which can actually be quite 'enjoyable'. Show what can be done from a place of power and belief. For now let’s just roll up our sleeves and build this wonderful new home.
In a familiar manner –
DO AS YOU SAY, DO MORE THAN YOU SAY.
Be real. Be honest. Stay true to your heart. Be good. And surround yourself with good people. And bloody have fun. It’s a wild world out there. And we're here to help you get ready to explore and conquer.
This is not a carbon copy of the past. This is new. This is different. This is beyond what we’ve done and some would expect. This is running around, taking life to a new level.
Yet beautifully simple: Back to the roots. Let’s just run. Let’s get real and stop the super duper amazingness hype. Get offline. Go outside. Get to know a community of good people with great ideas, curiosity in abundance, our hearts in the right place. And if your heart isn’t there just yet, we can help you put it where it belongs. This is such an individual journey yet each of us can flourish, if we can find a space that would allow us to. So here we are, creating that space. Together. We aren’t about brands, we are about people. We don’t care where you are coming from and where you start. As long as you start right here and try. I dare you.
And no matter how rocky the road and how deflated you feel lying in bed at night, once the morning comes, we are a little more ready to shine a little brighter.
