Strava is a great tool to track/analyze activities and to get people to push toward their next goal. It can also help bring like-minded enthusiasts together and motivate each other. Although I do get inspired by the people who earn the CRs because of all the hard training they've put in, the general egotistical nature of Strava is not my drive. For the same reason I don’t do races, my fitness goal is not trying to be competetive relative to others. I train against myself trying to be stronger for tomorrow. Just being prepared for any interesting or fun challenges that may come up :) I unabashly give Kudos to those I follow because I respect their dedication and effort, not because I expect Kudos in return.
