Eddy Merckx World Championship Challenge

Ride 963km, the cumulative distance of Eddy's four worlds wins.

Challenge Ended: October 13, 2013
The UCI World Road Championship marks the final crescendo of the road cycling season. It's the race which decides who gets to spend the following year wearing the coveted rainbow jersey, something Eddy Merckx did four times during his prolific career.

Eddy first won as an amateur in 1964 (Sallanches, France) and followed up with three victories as a professional in 1967 (Heerlen, Holland), 1971 (Mendrisio, Switzerland) and 1974 (Montreal, Canada). To celebrate his great achievements, Eddy Merckx Cycles and Strava are challenging you to ride 963km, the combined distance of these four world championship races.

There are achievement badges to be earned at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% of the Challenge distance. Will you be able to conquer the Challenge and collect all four? Channel your inner cannibal and make it happen!
