Tune-up for the race with an 18 mile long run.
Challenge Ended: March 31, 2014
Strava and Lucozade Sport are challenging you to test your fitness in preparation for the London Marathon by running at least 18 miles in one run between March 18th and March 31st.
Just pick a safe stretch of road, record an activity that is at least 18 miles long, and prove you are on track for that marathon PR!
Join the Lucozade Sport Running Club to connect with other runners competing in the race, and to get answers to your questions related to training, nutrition and hydration.
Athletes that complete this Challenge will receive a digital finishers badge.
You have to run 18 miles in a single run, just like you do in a race.
The Leaderboard is sorted based on the average pace of the qualifying activity. This means the faster you run during your activity, the higher you will show up on the Leaderboard.
You will not show up on the Challenge Leaderboard unless you complete an activity over 18 miles.
To ensure you meet the Challenge goal, we recommend you run a small amount over 18 miles during your activity (about .5km / .3mi). This will give you a buffer in the event your activity distance is shortened after upload to Strava due to the cleanup of GPS irregularities. You can learn about how distance is calculated for our app by reading this Knowledge Base Article.
There is no time limit to complete the 18 miles.
The Challenge period starts and ends based on each runners local time zone.
Manual entries or treadmill runs will not count towards your Challenge effort.
All activities logged during the Challenge period must be uploaded to Strava no later than April 3rd, 2014.
