TQCC Sunday Intro Cycle - to Castle Espie, Comber (clockwise)

9:30 AM Every 2 weeks on Sunday
Meet Up Spot Spar TQ
Casual (No-Drop) / Rolling Hills

The TQCC Introduction Cycle is a fortnightly leisure run out on a Sunday morning for prospective members to experience group riding with TQCC. The pace will be to suit the slowest cyclist, and there will be two Ride Leaders to manage the group. All with a scone tea/coffee stop included.

The run complements the club's Scone Run, and will also suit current members who want to;

- re-build their cycling fitness,
- enjoy a leisurely social ride, or
- help out by being part of showing newcomers the experience of group riding.

There is a "no-drop" policy on this ride, so nobody gets left behind.

The 30 mile run goes out along the Newtownards Road Glider bus lane, up over Bradshaws Brae, along the outskirts of Newtownards and then over the side of Scrabo. We then drop down to Comber and stop at Castle Espie (17.5 miles in) to enjoy a coffee and a scone or tray bake along with some craic.

The return journey is via the Comber bypass, and we sometimes cycle half way up Pear Tree Hill, before returning to the less hilly direct route home. Then back to the Glider bus lanes of the Newtownards Road, to return to Titanic Quarter.

If you are new to cycling with the club, please make yourself known to those at the meetup point at Spar Titanic Quarter (Arc Apartments behind the Odyssey), and members will be only too willing to provide advice about cycling in groups and cycling with the club.

We look forward to catching up with you on the club ride.
