Need some training motivation? Looking to run a half or full marathon this spring? We're going virtual with the LMJS marathon and half marathon training program for the 2021 Oakland Running Festival! Stay motivated with us! The training program kicks off November 30, 2020 and runs through March 2021, and will get you ready for the Oakland Marathon or Half Marathon or another spring race. Whether you’re an experienced marathoner, a first time half marathoner, or, like many of us right now, a little rusty from distance running, we will support your goals and have fun. The program includes a supportive virtual community, online training platform, weekly training run schedule, suggested running routes, speakers on running-related topics, and LMJS training shirt. It’s a virtual training that provides as much encouragement and camaraderie as our live program of previous years.

Since we’re virtual, you can participate from anywhere. The 16-week marathon training program begins Monday, November 30, 2020; the 12-week half marathon training program begins Monday, December 28, 2020. Half marathon training participants are encouraged to begin participating when the marathon training begins (and run shorter distances as appropriate). Register now or reach out for more information.
